{"id":31,"date":"2016-01-18T12:52:45","date_gmt":"2016-01-18T20:52:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/10.0.0.130\/wordpress\/?page_id=31"},"modified":"2025-07-08T10:25:48","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T17:25:48","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/salemyachtandboatclub.com\/?page_id=31","title":{"rendered":"About SYBC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_style\">Salem Yacht and Boat Club is located about 4 miles west of Salem, on Highway 22, by the intersection at Doak\u2019s Ferry Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\">From the private ramp at the club, there is nearly 4 miles of river to play in &#8212; water that is mostly inaccessible from any other Salem boat ramp.<\/p>\n<p>We currently have <strong><\/strong> active full members, with a maximum of <strong><\/strong>. New applications are taken throughout the year to build a waiting list. Beginning in January each year, openings are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. At this time, <strong>there <\/strong> on the waiting list.\u00a0 If you are interested in joining the Salem Yacht and Boating Club, please <a href=\"https:\/\/salemyachtandboatclub.com\/?page_id=489\">complete our online application<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"style_1\"><strong>Boat Ramp<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\">Our boat ramp is paved, and ends in a protected cove, where you don\u2019t have to fight wind or current.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\"><strong><span class=\"style_1\">Covered BBQ Area<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\">We have a covered BBQ area, with propane BBQs, tables, running water, and electricity.\u00a0 This area is open to all members, and cannot be reserved for private use.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\"><strong><span class=\"style_1\">Playground<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\">Children love playing on the swings and playground by the BBQ area.\u00a0 The playground was replaced in the summer of 2023 with a brand new area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\"><strong><span class=\"style_1\">Sandy Beach<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\">On warm, sunny days, you\u2019ll see several boats on the beach, and children playing in the sand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\"><strong><span class=\"style_1\">Moorage<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\">If you need a place to keep your boat, we have dry moorage available in the upper gravel parking lot.\u00a0 Spaces are reserved, for a fee, for one year at a time.\u00a0 Full members are able to reserve these spaces.\u00a0 Temporary parking, for up to 3 days, is available throughout the parking area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\"><strong><span class=\"style_1\">Fenced and Gated<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\">Our facility is secured, with fencing, gated entry, and security cameras.\u00a0 While we do our best to keep the area safe, it is ultimately each member&#8217;s responsibility to secure their boats and gear.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Salem Yacht and Boat Club is located about 4 miles west of Salem, on Highway 22, by the intersection at Doak\u2019s Ferry Road.
